The Boeing Company Real Time Software Engineer II in Berkeley, Missouri

Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for two Real Time Software Engineer II's  to join their team in

Berkeley, MO.

Interested in working in an area that provides a product to some of the major fighter platforms currently being flown around the world? Interested in ensuring that the warfighter has the latest and greatest capabilities at their fingertips? If so, the Combat Environment Server (CES) team is looking for two Software Engineers to be part of a dynamic team that models the constructive environments in support of flight training devices for several fixed wing fighter programs. The final product is utilized by experienced instructors to create realistic and high fidelity training scenarios to simulate real world combat scenarios in order to maintain mission readiness and train the next generation of fighter pilots. Engineers on this team are responsible for all phases of the modeling lifecycle including derived requirements, architecture, design, implementation and test. This includes the tools and applications associated with the planning, operating, monitoring and controlling of a real time constructive forces simulation. They are also directly involved in planning their own work as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

Have knowledge of radar, electronic warfare, infrared environment, weapon systems, physics, JMPs and MATLAB is a plus.

Be willing to assist other members of the development team in the performance of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced agile development environment.

Design, Develop, and Test software for the CES team's products.

Support the Team Lead in defining system level software features

Support the technical leadership in day-to-day design and implementation decisions

Work closely with the team in decomposing system level features into executable work items

Assure the development team’s products effectively addresses program priorities while maintaining technical integrity and cost and schedule targets

Assist coordination of feature dependencies across teams

Be willing to work extended hours when needed.

Advocate for process improvements through an understanding of the engineering lifecycle and previous experience

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

3+ years of experience in developing real-time simulation software

3+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Development in C++

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

This position prefers candidate have an active Secret US Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Knowledge of languages such as Fortran.

Knowledge of Physics (dynamics, RF, IR).

Experience working in a team environment

Experience with aircraft platforms, aviation, simulation, and training systems

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required.
