Materials Management Full-Time



Day ShiftResponsible for Materials Management activities including Purchasing, Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Management, etc, for all SoutheastHEALTH regional facilitiesBegin

  • Responsible for filling all “in-house inventory request form the various hospital units and departments. These orders will be filled on specific order days and on request when emergency supplies are needed

  • Responsible for daily inventory cycle counts

  • Ensure for the accurate distribution of all freight received; should accurately check in all supplies received, listing shortages and damages on trucking tickets and packing slips and report these directly to the office staff

  • Monitor stock shelves of storeroom including all incoming supplies and returns

  • Maintain work area to keep the storeroom, back hall, dock and other storage areas neat, clean and orderly at all times

  • Alert Supervisor when supplies are running low

  • Assist in other aspects of the storeroom when normal tasks are completed or when emergency situations arise

  • Deliver and pick up of supplies from other hospital and institutions

  • Operate vehicles at a safe and cautious speed at all times; notifies the Supervisor immediately when problems pertaining to vehicles arise (i.e. speeding tickets, wrecks, noted damage or problems with vehicles)

  • Maintains and assures good public relations at all times

  • Responsible for inventory of all forms, stationery supplies and other supplies

  • Deliver all forms and items to storage as needed

  • Assist in other aspects of the storeroom when daily tasks are completed or emergency situations arise

  • Ability to learn the various types of medical supplies and become familiar with their uses

  • Constantly must be aware of product changes and be able to explain the changes with other departments

  • Responsible for moving supplies and equipment to and from the offsite warehouse.

  • Handles various hazardous (not radio-active) supplies for various areas

  • Communicates clearly with other departments, employees, RN's, department heads etc.

  • Must become familiar with the location of every department in the hospital in order to deliver supplies

  • Assists with training of new employees

  • Accurately checks in all freight, receives in computer system, scans documents to respective PO

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • 1-2 years’ experience in stockroom and general clerical work preferred

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Computer skills required – to include typing, keyboard, Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
