Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Hubbell Incorporated engages in the design, manufacture, and sale of electrical and electronic products in the United States and internationally. It operates in three segments: Electrical, Power, and Industrial Technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans details of working procedure by determining replacement needs and new material required and develops a logical approach to correct the problem.

  • Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems.

  • performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown.

  • Will be required to install, adjust, and repair electrical distribution systems, electrical machines, motors, switches, heating devices, cooling controls, gauges, PLC's and all electrical units, devices or pieces of equipment used in our facilities in production or office buildings.

  • Will be required to work with all voltage levels as required by the supervisor of the maintenance department.

  • Must be able to work from blue prints, drawings, schematics, sketches, and verbal assignments.

Skills and Experience

Associates degree from an authorized technical school, or equivalent experience, with a recommended 30 plus credit hours of trade school, or a journeyman status from an approved apprentice program. Will be required to have and maintain a Missouri authorized chauffeurs, license.

  • Ability to lift 60-80 lbs. manually when loading and unloading parts, materials, dies, fixtures, setting up equipment, and all other manual processes, design lay outs, and duties in the job.

  • Ability to walk, hear, see in order to reasonably perform essential job functions.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. manually from floor to waist and waist to floor.

  • Full use of both hands.

  • Ability to stand and perform various job functions for long periods of time, with company standard break periods for rest.
