Oracle Software Developer in Chesterfield, Missouri

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Department Description

Configuration Engineering within Global Release Operations organization is responsible for the timely and accurate implementation of Oracle's hardware product configurator and related tools. The configurator is used by partners, internal sales, and order fulfillment organizations for quoting, ordering, and fulfillment. Our software integrates with pricing, order management, internal and external manufacturers, and other backend systems.

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and result-oriented candidate to be responsible for software development of applications and internal and customer facing tools. You will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain executable modules and web services for Oracle Configurator.

  2. Develop QA automated testing tools and reporting tools.

  3. Software development for other projects as they arise.

  4. Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

  5. Adhere to Oracle software standards and procedures.

  6. Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise.

  7. May provide technical leadership to other software developers. May have project lead role.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Competency in programming with Java, Groovy, and Javascript. C , Unix shell, PL/SQL, and other languages a plus.

  • Experience working with and developing REST and SOAP APIs, with related security APIs (e.g., oAuth, WSSE).

  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand complex systems (APIs, databases, SDK's, etc.)

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

  • Ability to identify and clearly communicate pragmatic solutions to complex integration problems.

  • Working understanding of software development best practices.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent team player. Flexible, adaptable, proactive and self-motivated.

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

  • 2-6 years of software development or related experience.
