This position is also responsible for coding and debugging engineering/scientific applications by performing the following duties.Required Skills:Duties and Responsibilities:Design, code, test and debug existing and new software using Microsoft technologies focusing on C and C++ with MFC within the CAD/CAE domain.Collaborate with developers, Software Quality Assurance and Product Management to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent and fulfill business needs.Demonstrate a curious, self-motivated and ownership-oriented approach in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting application software.Refactor existing software.Work closely with the Software Engineering Manager and peers to ensure adherence to generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure robust program logic and data manipulation.Work in an Agile software development environment, participating in regular review, progress and planning meetings.Required Experience:Qualified Candidates Will Possess the Following:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.6-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience working in scientific/engineering software with Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering knowledge (specifically Statics or Material Mechanics) and exposure to Professional Engineer Standards or Building Codes (AISI or IBC).Rich knowledge and experience in C, C++ and strong experience with large projects using Microsoft Visual Studio; Practical Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following is a plus: SQL Database, Object Oriented Design, C# and .Net, TFS, Test Track. Experience working with Autodesk software platform: Modeling with AEC objects (using AutoCAD Architectural (ACA / ADT) and/or Autodesk Revit).Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
