Your Role and Responsibilities
Location: Columbia, MO. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer relocation assistance at this time.
IBM is now seeking Middleware Specialists to be responsible for providing support to our client operations surrounding Web infrastructures. Supported products include Websphere Application Server on a variety of Operating systems including Linux & Windows.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Review server/software configurations
Ensure environment follows security best practices
Support on-call off hours support and monitoring
Environment tuning for best performance
Patching and upgrades as needed
Troubleshooting problems that will not be routine or standardized
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
6+ months experience supporting either Windows Server 2008/2012, Linux (Rhel, SUSE) or AIX Operating Systems
6+ months experience in implementing and renewing SSL certificates
Ability to work well with a team
Strong communication skills
Fluency in English language
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 1 year experience in maintenance/administration of WebSphere Application Server (8.x, 9.x), Apache Tomcat, or Microsoft IIS; including, but not limited to:
Locate and interpret Websphere Application Server logs
Apply patches to Websphere Application Server 8.x
Navigate the Websphere Administration Console
Troubleshooting issues in Websphere Application Server 8.x.x 9.x.x
Perform quarterly healthchecks on the SKLM Websphere system
Good understanding of both Websphere & DB2 file system structures, applying patches to DB2, locating & interpreting DB2 logs, running queries in DB2
Experience with ticketing systems including ISM, SCCD, Maximo, Servicenow, Siebel, or Remedy
Experience with Tape and DASD backup environments
Experience in Scripting (JACL, JYTHON, PERL, etc.)
Basic knowledge in disaster recovery concepts and techniques
