Global Velocity Transition Software Testing Strategy & Execution Ld
The Global Velocity Transition (GVT) Program is responsible for supporting the Digital Transformation of Bayer Crop Science by leading and driving the efficient, effective, and timely transition of end users from current field trialing and laboratory IT systems to the new Velocity IT platform. This is a large Program with (annual spend of €50-75m) and reaches end users that cut across several Bayer Crop Science functions. We are actively seeking a talented and driven individual to lead strategic planning and execution for Software Testing as part of this program.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, GVT Testing Strategy and Execution Lead, are to:
Develop a cross-functional software testing strategy for current and future Velocity capabilities, including the integration of plans across functions accounting for resource planning, timelines, technical environment needs and support needs;
Partner with and provide support across business functions and IT to drive the execution of Velocity Testing;
Create and maintain testing best practices and tools to improve consistency, efficiency, test rigor and ensure valid results;
Define consistent expectations and standardized tools for point and end-to-end testing, consolidating best practices and learnings from previous testing efforts;
Lead regular cross functional test coordination meetings as appropriate and drive status reporting across functions and IT;
Drive resolution of outcomes and impacts of testing results by partnering with Delivery, Training and Change leads;
Lead resolution of escalated Issues/Risks and scheduling conflicts and constraints;
Coach teams for successful Test planning, preparation, execution and data management; Provide consultative support to teams around test cycles, resource needs and sources, and test data;
Consolidate overall measurement of test progress and results, providing a single point of communication;
Ensure business decision making is based on factual test results in partnership with Initiative Lead;
Coordinate with IT Product management on MVP delivery for testing;
Monitor test environment availability and stability and coordinate testing and release management;
Develop overall communications of plans and expectations; Understand and consolidate communication of capabilities in each release and alignment with test plan;
The preferred locations for this role are Creve Coeur, MO or Chesterfield, MO. Relocation assistance may be offered for qualified candidates.

Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in global roles in IT, R&D and/or other relevant business areas or Master's degree with at least 8 years of experience;
Experience with Agile software development practices including story and sprint planning and backlog management;
Experience developing and executing the different aspects of agile testing including: functional tests, exploratory testing, usability testing, and performance and load testing.
Experience participating in the development and launch of new, internally developed or custom software, data platforms and processes for teams and/or organizations;
Experience building trust and partnerships with end user groups;
High sense of urgency, resilient and process driven;
Proven ability to influence and motivate business partners and key stakeholders on a global scale;
Experienced in cross-functional or cross-company program management;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills.
Domain knowledge in specific research areas (e.g. Breeding, Biotech, Crop Protection, Laboratory, Nursery/Greenhouse) that would be relevant to Bayer Crop Science research and/or laboratory functions
Familiarity with program and portfolio management;
Experience leading transformation projects within Enterprise IT organizations.
