Our Reporting and Analytics team is looking for an entry-level Business Intelligence Developer. The role will primarily focus on managing reference data, supporting ad-hoc data requests, gathering requirements, creating technical documentation and building/maintaining reports. We will provide learning and development opportunities in data modeling, Power Query and Power BI. The candidate should have strong communication skills and a good understanding of insurance brokerage processes and data.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintain reference datasets in SQL that are used within our SSRS and Power BI reports.
Execute and deliver regular (daily, weekly, monthly) reports.
Manipulate data in Excel for use in reports and ad-hoc analytics.
Run ad-hoc SQL queries to provide data requested by business leaders.
Meet with busines partners to collect user requirements and create functional specifications. Work with BI team to build out missing documentation.
Develop, execute and clearly articulate results for test cases on new reports. Perform QA on new BI reports before business acceptance testing.
Address incoming service requests regarding bugs, access and other report-management issues.
Build datasets, measures and visuals in Power BI.
Assist/train users in the use of reports.
Communicate clearly with business users and IT professionals about enhancements that are being made to the existing reports and processes.
Collaborate with teammates to plan mid- and long-term product and technical strategies.
3+ years of experience with insurance brokerage applications, processes, reporting and/or data.
3+ years of T-SQL experience.
2+ years business analyst experience writing business and/or technical requirements.
Experience writing Power Query and DAX a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with remote teammates and users.
