Job Description

The Senior Development Engineer is a senior level R&D position providing technical leadership to medium scale platform or maintenance projects. In addition, this individual provides a strong supporting role on major PDP or breakthrough projects. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering and have experience implementing technical aspects of large product development programs, preferably for the medical device industry. The position reports directly to the Senior Principal R&D Engineer of the Electromechanics Group

Accountabilities

  • Applies technical expertise in designing electromechanical systems and has additional knowledge of other related disciplines. Develops technological ideas and provides implementation into a final product.
  • Supports the successful completion of major programs and may function as the primary technical leader for smaller development platforms or subsystems. This individual should be capable of working independently in their area of technical expertise and provide technical details in design reviews with peers and technical leaders.
  • Works on complex technical challenges and provides innovative solutions that require use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Will be working in a cross functional technical environment where working with outside partners is essential for project success.
  • Interacts with external personnel on significant cross-functional programs, often requiring coordination with vendors outside the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2+ years related work experience required
  • Experience designing products with 3D CAD, product development experience
  • Electro Mechanical design preferred
  • Medical Device experience desired
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
