This position serves as a Building Services Specialist in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Region, Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA).
This position serves as a Building Services Specialist in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Region, Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA). The position reports to the Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA) and is responsible for customer service and facilities support for buildings owned or managed by the FAA, the Department of Transportation (DOT), or other Federal entities.Performs and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities to provide building occupants the level and kind of building services specified in leases, agreements and other documents.Assists in the development and implementation of overall programs to promote and monitor occupant safety, space utilization, fire and security protection, and building/ground maintenance programs and has contact with personnel both internal and external to the organization.Plans for the receipt, location, storage and distribution of warehouse supply items, and performs inventory control, to include receipt and distribution tracking.Support and/or completes other duties assigned in support of the organization's goals.Provides regular facility services and management support in responding to customer requirements and concerns, long range space planning, space utilization and interoffice moves.Provides regular facility services support for furniture reconfiguration and minor repairs, room set ups, facility inspections, and contractor escorts.May also support excess property processing, mail distribution services, parking services and key access and control.Physical requirements for performance of assignments include standing, walking, bending, stooping, pulling, lifting (tables, chairs, cubicle furniture, IT equipment, boxes of paper) and wearing applicable safety gear for protection as applicable.Supports the ARA Quality Management System Program through continuous improvement.

To qualify for this position at the FV-G level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that should include the ability to apply knowledge of Federal laws, regulations, policies and best practices as they pertain to facility and building management; examples may include but not limited to work in performing and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of operating activities to provide building occupants the level and kind of building services specified in leases, agreements and other documents; assists in the development and implementation of overall programs to promote and monitor occupant safety, space utilization, fire and security protection and building/ground maintenance programs with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level. OR, Education substitution: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university. OR, Combination education and experience may be qualifying for this position.
