Kansas City Southern Railway Contracts Manager in Kansas City, Missouri
This position is responsible for sourcing and negotiating material and service contracts for the Engineering Department in the U.S. and Mexico.
Sources and negotiates material and service contracts for the Engineering department.
Manages the request for proposal (RFP) process from vendors as well as conducts bid result analysis. Recommends final vendor selection.
Negotiates with Legal the final contract or master service agreement (MSA) and associated pricing and terms and conditions of material and service contracts.
Manages regular interaction with internal and external customers, contractors and the senior management team regarding the status of service and material contracts.
Reviews or modifies processes and measures and monitors the performance of the Engineering purchasing function.
Reports and analyzes purchasing reports, partners with other functions as needed.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
Minimum five (5) years of meaningful professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Railroad experience or equivalent Materials/Services experience
Experience working with the Engineering function
This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal workweek of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
