Bureau of the Fiscal Service Facility Operations Specialist (COMPUTER FACILITY PLANNING SPECIALIST) in Kansas City, Missouri

The incumbent serves as a Facility Operations Specialist within Fiscal Service (FS), Information and Security Services (ISS), Infrastructure Management Division (IMD), Data Center Branch (DCB). Responsibilities As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will: Serve as a technical representative for ISS to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Fiscal Service’s IT customers, General Services Administration (GSA), other government agencies, and outside contractors with respect to the Bureau's centralized computing and telecommunications centers, and Fiscal Service’s information technology physical operations. Maintain current technical knowledge to answer questions from management and IT Specialists, on procedures, policies, and directives regarding installation and removal of ISS devices. Manage the operations of all environmental controls (electric, temperature, humidity, etc.) for communications closets, switch rooms, and data centers at all Fiscal Service IT Resource Areas. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within30 daysafter the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to theGS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experiencefor this position includes: - Experience with the installation of computer equipment including servers, networking devices and telecommunications equipment to facilitate operations; AND - Experience interpreting and relaying IT procedures, policies or directives regarding installation and removal of devices to remain in compliance with regulations; AND - Experience assisting with the oversight of electrical circuit installation within a facility to assure compliance. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
