Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits Facility Supervisor in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for maintaining systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff. This position will cover multiple facilities. The primary responsibilities will be Kansas City, Missouri and Edwardsville, Kansas but could support other smaller facilities or depots as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures

  • Contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems

  • Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements

  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts

  • Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations

  • Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all health department locations

  • Supervises and assigns the work of maintenance support employees and inspects work for completeness

  • Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Transfers equipment and personnel from one project to another as necessary

  • Does general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves and landscaping

  • Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities

  • Keeps timecards for maintenance support workers, and other routine record

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships

  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills

  • Knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties

  • Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical and mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of inspection procedures

  • Knowledge of national, territorial and local building codes, regulations, bylaws and policies

  • Ability to inspect, operate and maintain the heating, cooling and ventilation system and the boiler system

  • Skill in maintaining and repairing security hardware

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
