Trip Mate builds in-house applications to service clients and partners on various platforms in the travel insurance industry. Trip Mate?s solutions create ease of use for our partners and efficient processing of client requests, claims and travel policy purchases across the United States and the world.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementing conventions and standards for developing future web applications in a secure, clean and efficient manner
Architecting and coding user-facing web applications for new and legacy backend systems
Work with partners and end users to develop user-friendly solutions that effectively solve business problems
Participate in code reviews and provide/receive constructive feedback from peers
Use best practices for maintaining code base using GIT for source control
Use Jira for ticket tracking, sprint planning, and communication with business stake holders
Be able to work across multiple time zones with different teams of developers, marketing and project managers
Documentation of code and applications including code comments, READMEs, standardized commit messages, and Confluence
Effectively communicating with a variety of end users, business managers and other developers on project plans and application functionality
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
2-4 years of related development experience, or 5+ years of related development work experience
Proficiency in the following:
Web markup experience including HTML5, CSS3 and W3C validation and compliance
CSS pre-processor LESS and SASS experience
Understanding of versioning tools such as Git
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical aspects to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good understanding of SEO principles with the ability to develop applications that adhere to them.
Experience with Atlassian suite of applications (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and Aha!)
Knowledge and understanding of application and web security
Experience in unit testing code and the ability to build unit tests with/for other developers
Knowledge and experience developing ADA Compliant websites
- Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent experience
