Burns & McDonnell Senior Information Security Specialist in Kansas City, Missouri
The Senior Information Security Specialist will provide subject matter expertise in the area of protecting company information assets through security policies and procedures, enterprise accounts and permissions management, application and system security software packaging , distribution and patching, incident response, vulnerability management, and security technology implementation, operations, and maintenance.
Develop and present long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
Lead the implementation of security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities; e.g., intrusion detection or access authentication programs.
Implement security programs across platforms.
Establish vulnerability reporting criteria and present corresponding reports.
Review and recommend proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks.
Recommend solutions for mitigation or countermeasures.
Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure.
Review and evaluate security incident response policies for compliance and recommend changes.
Identify need for changes based on new security technologies or threats.
Recommend and implement new policies or procedures.
Initiate measures to ensure information security awareness and compliance.
Implement higher level security requirements such as those resulting from laws, regulations, or Presidential directives.
Integrate security programs across disciplines.
Define the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the security program.
Certify systems or network accreditation.
Ensure coordination and/or collaboration on security activities.
Integrate information systems security with other security disciplines.
Ensure coordination and/or collaboration on security activities
Plan and coordinate the development of specifications to meet security requirements.
Responsible for the product improvement process.
Responsible for validation testing and data analysis process.
Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities.
Responsible for ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Manage the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the department.
Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Minimum 13 yrs information security experience.
Expert in applying IT systems security principles, concepts, and methods to the infrastructure protection environment
Expert in applying information systems security principles and concepts to the enterprise IT architecture
Expert in applying new IT security developments
Expert in applying project management principles and methods
Expert in applying interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines
Expert in applying the IT security hierarchy
Expert in applying, systems security principles, methods, regulations, and policies
Expert in applying systems security certification and accreditation requirements and processes
Expert in applying information systems security protocols
CISSP, CEH, CCSP certification required.
