iPurpose of Position:Reporting to the Molding Plant Manager, the Molding Shift Supervisor is responsible for the planning, managing and directing of the Molding Operations on their assigned shift, which involves providing direct leadership to the production team.iThis position is also responsible for food safety and quality procedures to ensure that the Companyis objectives for food safety and quality meet or exceed customersi and regulatory agenciesi requirements.Key Responsibilities:1. Maintain a high level of plant and machine safetyEnsures all shift team members are trained and performing in a safe and efficient manner.Ensure accident/incident investigations are completed and documented. Determine root causes and corrective actions to ensure completion of corrective action.Promote proactive identification and elimination of hazards.Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health and safety policies are followed.Perform daily-unplanned inspections.iiEnsure that inspection is appropriately documented.Maintain department organization and cleanliness i comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.2. Manage the molding operationsiEnsure that all team members are treated in an equal and fair manner, abiding by the company standards of conduct.Be a role model for employees.Effectively partner with other managers in daily work and/or projects.Be responsible for the supervision of direct reporting Team Members.Be familiar with Team Handbook, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety HandbookEfficiently communicate and enforce above rules.Ensure appropriate procedures and standard work is established, documented and personnel are trained.Provide timely feedback to team members.Ensure cross-training and back-up support is adequate.Forward compliance and other issues, as appropriate, to Human Resources.Manage injured employeesi modified duties and time off from workeris compensation in the Department, including submitting appropriate documentation as required.Complete other paperwork as required or assigned (e.g. Change of Status forms, Personnel Requisition forms, shift reports, labor allocation reports, daily production reports)Determine and report cavitation and cycle time achievement within 1 hour of start of shift.ii1st Shift Supervisor will communicate with Process Engineer on cavities blocked.iiThe Supervisor will enforce established Cavitation process.Responsibility to ensure all HACCP Food Safety requirements are met and all GMPS are followed\3. Establish and ensure the achievement of performance targetsParticipate in establishing and adhering to Molding Department objectives.Understand and adhere to annual budget and performance targets.Meet the targets for people, quality, delivery and cost. Establish corrective actions when performance is off target.Ensure timely response to NCRis and PQIis including establishing corrective action plans.4. Report and communicateLead daily shift production meeting.Report on Molding shift performance and participate in daily operation meeting.Review and communicate molding weekly performance as reported on the flash report.Review and communicate molding monthly performance at operations management team meetings.Communicate performance and other information through posting of charts, bulletins, memos, etc. as required.Ensure routine communication sessions take place with the shop floor.Participate in monthly communication sessions as required.5. Manage the molding continuous improvement programParticipate in the CI program to deliver the department objectives.Lead, facilitate or participate in specific CI projects.Lead, facilitate or participate in Kaizens.Promote a continuous improvement culture.Other duties as assignedQualifications1.iHigh School Diploma required.iiPrefer university degree, preferably in Engineering, Business or related area.2.iRequire 3 years of progressive leadership experience in an injection molding environment.3.iPrefer 5 years of progressive leadership in a Lean Manufa
