StandardAero Material Specialist in North Kansas City, Missouri

Position Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans and manages inventory at a business unit level, including stores exchange pools, consignment and company owned inventory. Inspects and follows processes and procedures ensuring quality requirements are achieved. Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of related data and systems. Typical duties include * Carries out inventory control functions by balancing company goals (cost, quality, delivery), monitoring and controlling customer consignment parts, disposing of excess/obsolete inventory, monitoring reduce to spares inventory levels, and transferring inventory between plant locations if necessary. * Interfaces with vendors, staff and management to resolve discrepancies, answer questions and provide guidance and training on inventory systems. Recommends enhancements to material planning systems. * Controls data integrity of inventory systems by creating and updating item master files and researching inventory discrepancies, * Coordinates and monitors the return of damaged goods, arranging for replacements or credits, and documents all transactions. * Researches and reconciles discrepancies noted during cycle count process. * Participates in the recommendation of business unit material policy discussions. Exhibits an understanding of complex material/financial situations. * Monitoring and moving of material from the loading dock to central stores and communicating with departments of customer receipts. Assist in the unloading of incoming freight as needed. * Validation of receipts against purchase orders and proper system transactions including adherence to quality procedures including lot tagging, shelf life, certifications, etc. Includes stocking of material in correct locations while maintaining clean labeling. * Participation in special projects as assigned to enhance and improve the warehouse and material control functions. * Pulling and entering in transactions of inventory via pick tickets and inventory pull sheets. * Reviews and recommends updates to company instructions and material policies and procedures. * Interacts with Logistics to ensure maximization of freight savings and to communicate priority shipments of incoming materials. * Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. * Carries out other projects as assigned. Position Requirements Requirements * Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills. * Knowledge of inventory control systems. * Knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment. * Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and production management computer systems. * Ability to use a forklift or willingness to learn upon acceptance of job offer. * Experience in an inventory or manufacturing environment.
