DescriptionThe Industrial Electronics Technician will be involved with the installation, maintenance, and continual improvement of electrical equipment used in all aspects of automation, both electrical and electro-mechanical. The Industrial Electronics Technician is expected to work on every type of system from the simplest electrical systems using fuses and motors, to the most complex electronic systems using sophisticated electronic computer interface boards, motor drives, programmable logic controllers, HMIs, hydraulic and pneumatic positioners, solid-state devices and robotics.Schedule: (Mon-Fri) Saturdays and OT may be required based on Facility needsThis is a "day" shift but requires some flexibility regarding actual scheduled times.Pay: $22.00/hr + opportunity for monthly bonusesPosition Description:The Industrial Electronics Technician will be involved with the installation, maintenance, and continual improvement of electrical equipment used in all aspects of automation, both electrical and electro-mechanical. The Industrial Electronics Technician is expected to work on every type of system from the simplest electrical systems using fuses and motors, to the most complex electronic systems using sophisticated electronic computer interface boards, motor drives, programmable logic controllers, HMIs, hydraulic and pneumatic positioners, solid-state devices and robotics.Primary Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and repair electronic and electro-mechanical problems (PLC, circuit boards, drives, high frequency heating equipment, etc.)Read, understand, and be able to modify the PLC programs for all of the primary pieces of equipment.Address robot troubleshooting and programming needs (Fanuc RJ2).Develop appropriate technical contacts within our equipment supplier base.Continue his/her education as new technology is introduced in the plant.Must have successfully completed OJT and JSA training.Ability to cross-train others for the position and be cross-trained elsewhere as needed.Complies with EXLTUBE policies and OSHA guidelines affecting machine operations, such as; but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out.Attends all scheduled company and safety meetings.Follows and enforces company safety policies and safe work practices at all times.Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors.Physical and Work Requirements:PPE = Personal Protective Equipment required in all positions.Use of other hand tools and equipment may also be required.Occasional overtime.Warehouse environment, uncontrolled climate year round.Dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.Required Background, Competencies and Expertise:Requires a strong knowledge in various types of motor drives, PLC programming, electronic and electrical circuit troubleshooting, and robotics.Self-motivated.Safety OrientationMechanical ComprehensionAchievement OrientationResponsibilityThoroughness / Detail OrientationTeamworkPersistence5+ years of hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.A wide range of education (associates degree, EE, EET, etc.) will be considered depending on the combination of education and actual work experience.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
