This individual will lead the analysis for large initiatives, be responsible for gathering requirements through feature requests from our development partners, define game plan and strategy for implementation implementation of database designs, provide consulting, and drive the best practice, governance, and standards of Database Engineering in Mastercard.Overview:The Digital Service Delivery team is looking for a candidate who can help us solve problems, build and maintain our databases, and lead Mastercard in Database automation and best practices. As part of Technology Operations, DE drives the database engineering best practice, governance and standards in Mastercard. As a Lead Database Engineer part of the Digital Service Delivery team, you will leverage your knowledge and skills to deploy and manage various database technologies in Test and Production environments for global products ranging from Developer APIs to Digital Checkout to Card Tokenization.Major Accountabilities for this role: Takes a lead consultative position in complex initiatives of strategic importance (e.g., cross functional/ cross geographies), including implementing the most appropriate data solutions for individual applications Drives the development of SQL statement procedures to optimize SQL tuning and query development The company go-to resource for all technical data engineering questions and consulting (e.g., physical database design, performance tuning and implementation), and responsibility for the database architecture for a business area Consults with business partners on physical data needs and solutions, and sets corporate-wide data standards and best practices Experience driving database architecture and application development for significant MandA, strategic, new technology infrastructure Researches and evaluates tools and acquisition opportunities to support cross-domain needs Applies advanced technical capabilities within own discipline to coach and develop technical talent and project teams Supports financial decisions, ensuring correct technology placing (e.g., NoSQL, Mongo DB) and expense optimization Provides input into performance appraisal process for several junior employees or team membersEducation (preferred):Bachelors Degree in Information systems or equivalent experience.Knowledge/Experience (preferred): Solid and proven experience as a Database (Technical) Lead or Architect In-depth knowledge of database management (Installation, creation of new instances, space management, database reorganization and internals, backup and recovery, replication, perf
