Tyson Foods Hatchery Processing - Full time - Pineville, MO 64856 in Pineville, Missouri
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:10 am to 3:10 pm.
Will work other shifts as needed to cover for egg driver and hatchery monitor positions. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Candidates must reside within the current recruitment area to include the following counties: In Arkansas – Benton or Washington County; in Missouri – Barry, Lawrence, McDonald, or Newton County.
Candidates with agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.
Starting Wage: $15.45
Plus, additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

- This position is responsible for inspecting eggs to ascertain quality and fitness for incubation, processing chicks, and cleaning/sanitizing hatchery and equipment by performing all essential duties as well as covering egg driver and night monitor shifts in the absence of other team members. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares eggs for incubation by grading eggs while traying to observe for defects such as shell color, texture, cracks, etc., transferring pedigree eggs without mixing hen numbers, placing substandard eggs (broken, dirty, etc.) in container for disposal, packing eggs in cases for international orders, processing day old chicks by counting, vaccinating, wing banding, delivering chicks within the complex, and entering data using a touch screen tablet (40%)
Maintains a sanitary environment by operating tray washer, operating high pressure sprayer and/or water hose to clean and sanitize setters, hatchers, egg rooms, chick processing area, and hatchery vehicles, performing the collection of weekly hatchery monitoring samples including air plates and swabs, and fumigating specified areas of facility as required (20%)
Covers for egg driver by performing the following duties: picks up eggs from houses in laying, traps, and cages sections and delivers to hatchery, operates egg sanitizer by placing and removing eggs on a conveyor belt, grades eggs by observing shell color, quality, and texture to identify substandard eggs, places hatching eggs in buggies as identified by line, flock# and/or hen#, packs eggs in cases for international orders, places substandard eggs (broken, dirty, etc.) in container for disposal, loads PS/SS eggs on truck and delivers to front egg room for pick up by off-site driver, assists with loading of PS/SS egg racks on truck for transport to off-site hatchery, monitors hatchery environment hourly for proper temperature and humidity levels and reports issues as needed, operates tray washer to wash/disinfect flats and hatcher trays, disinfects crates daily and thorough cleaning weekly, operates foamer to disinfect egg van after each pickup, fumigates specified areas of facility as required, operates high pressure sprayer and water hose to clean and sanitize egg room and hatchery vehicles daily, removes waste at end of shift (15%)
Covers for hatchery monitor by performing the following duties: maintains facility and product security by monitoring building and surrounding area for unauthorized entry, vandalism, and/or safety hazards, monitoring incubation equipment for proper operation, records readings, and reports issues as needed, and monitoring hatchery environment for proper temperature and humidity levels, records readings, and reports issues as needed; performs the following duties related to hatch preparation: dispenses formaldehyde per schedule, fumigates specified areas of facility as required, set eggs in incubator according to diagram directions, prepare hatcher trays for transfer on Friday and/or Saturday, load hatcher buggies into hatchers and start machine on Sunday, clean, setup, and operate tray washer, operate high pressure washer to clean and sanitize various rooms of the hatchery. (15%)
Must be willing to achieve and maintain a respirator certification: TMs must remain clean shaven during all scheduled work hours.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Holds eggs before a shielded light to determine fertility, assists egg drivers with sorting pedigree eggs by line/hen and placing hatching eggs in buggies, clean incinerator, monitor operation of generator during power failure, maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer, maintain vehicle by checking fluid levels, filters, tire pressure, and clean/disinfect to remove debris, and maintains a clean and organized work/break area. (10%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:
- The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 15 pounds and will occasionally be required to push or pull stacks of boxes up to 125 pounds. Will occasionally be required to pull/push 500 to 1000 pounds (wheeled carts). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; bend/stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Tools and Equipment: Requires the use of hand tools such as broom, squeegee, vaccination gun, wire cutters.
Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Ear Plugs, safety goggles and/or glasses, face shield, chemical resistant gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Must wear company provided facial covering. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators, cotton gloves, rainsuits can be worn as needed.
Chemicals Commonly Used: formaldehyde, peroxide, disinfectants, vehicle fluids, and lubricants.
Safety: Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
During the current Pandemic (2020), all Team Members will be required to wear company issued facial coverings. Training will be provided to each Team Member specific to their job and their facility location in addition to signing an acknowledgement form they understand these expectations. It is considered an essential function of each job for a Team Member to wear the company issued facial coverings. If a Team Member indicates they will not wear the mask, they will not be considered for the position in which they are applying or any position that requires the facial covering.
