Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician LEAD for our night shift team of multi-skilled technicians in a hydraulic hose manufacturing facility in Pomona, MO!

  • This position works a 12-hour shift .

  • On our schedule rotation of 3 on and 2 off; 2 on and 3 off - you’ll work 15 days a month and get paid for the whole thing !

This manufacturing maintenance technician is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the production equipment and systems in a large industrial environment.

  • Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot industrial production equipment and systems such as metal cutting, shaping and forming machines; robotics; pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, air handlers and other equipment as required.

  • Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective electrical / mechanical maintenance on all production related industrial systems including, but not limited to: machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and coolant systems .

  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC controlled equipment using Allen Bradley RS 5, 500, 5000 and Siemens controls.

This position is also responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team, and perform the daily function of supervising and developing the multi-skilled technical workforce.

  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role.

  • Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed.

  • Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.

The Production Maintenance Technician LEAD must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and performs complex repairs to machinery, robotic systems, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems; conveyor systems.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, alignments, etc.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains PLC controlled machines.

  • Demonstrates ability to utilize meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, etc.

  • Performs plumbing and hydraulic hose repairs.

  • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

  • Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

  • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements

  1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  2. Five years of experience as an electrical and/or mechanical maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and systems in an industrial setting, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  3. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Industrial Technology, Industrial Electrical, or Industrial Mechanical.

  2. Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits on machines and equipment in an industrial environment.

  3. Experience operating and/or maintaining MIG, TIG and/or arc welders.

  4. Experience repairing industrial/commercial lighting and controls.

  5. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing facility mechanical systems such as HVAC, conveyors, and boilers to OEM specifications.

  6. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, steam components up to 150 psi, cranes and hoists, systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.

  7. Experience troubleshooting low voltage controls.

  8. Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs.

  9. Experience with robotics maintenance and repairs.

  10. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing power transfer devices, pumps and gearboxes on assembly line and process equipment.

  11. NFPA-70E Training.
