FIELD/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE WORKER IFACILITIES MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENTStarting Salary / Salary Range: $28,986.76 - $34,914.56 This is a full-time position which includes a full range of benefits including Paid Time Off, Extended Medical Leave, Holidays, Employee Health, Dental, Life, Disability, Retirement, and Tuition Assistance programs.JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to performs upkeep for various County properties as it relates to landscaping and grounds maintenance. The work is performed under the supervision of Supervisor Facility Support.Performs turf maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, fertilizing, seeding, sod installation and watering.Prunes trees and shrubs. Assist with removal of trees and shrubs when needed. Rakes leaves in the fall.Plants and maintains flower beds, pulls weeds, applies weed preemergent and prevention chemicals and spreads mulch.Sweeps curbs, walkways and parking lots for plant materials and debris or trash.Maintains Flood Plain and Communication Tower properties. Including mowing, weeding, and debris removal.Removes snow and ice from walkways, parking lots and building entrances. Spreads ice melt products.Completes work orders documenting supplies used, time spent on projects and job completion status.Operates and assists with maintaining equipment and minor repairs. Monitors equipment operation and recommends repairs or replacements. Equipment to include but not limited to mowers, tractors, snow plows, rotary motors, trimmers, chain saws, and blowers.Maintains irrigation systems, performs spring maintenance, and prepares systems for winter.Monitors and recommends grounds supplies and materials such as seed, fertilizer, mulch, herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides. Reports deficiencies to the Supervisor.Raises and lowers flags as directed. Replaces flags as necessary.Sets up tables and chairs in meeting spaces.Moves equipment, supplies, parts, and general items in and between buildings or as part of a disposal.Cleans shop and organizes tools.Unlocks campus buildings at the beginning of business days.Leads seasonal workers.This position is assigned On-Call for snow duty or weather-related events and will be required to report to work as needed, outside of normal business hours.Assists with general maintenance work to include plumbing and carpentry projects, replacing light bulbs and erecting workstations or furniture.Escorts repair service personnel and contractors.REQUIREMENTS:EducationGeneral/technical high school diploma or GED equivalent.Job Experience1 year of prior responsible work experience preferably in grounds maintenance.Knowledge, skills, and abilitiesIndividuals with building access to areas with confidential data such as MULES/REJIS databases used in law enforcement are required to successfully pass a fingerprint background check and maintain a clear record throughout employment.Must have and maintain a drivers license and a satisfactory driving record.TO APPLY: All applications must be submitted through our Self-Service Website at http://hr.sccmo.org/hr.
