The Boeing Company MP&P Technical Analyst in Saint Louis, Missouri

The Specialty Materials and Integration Team is looking for experienced technicians to provide Materials and Process, Research and Development support to Boeing Defense Systems development programs. We are seeking highly motivated, energetic and capable technicians to join the Boeing Research & Technology, Specialty Materials and Integration team in St. Louis, MO.

This group is responsible for providing M&P support to Boeing Defense Systems development programs. We are also responsible for leading materials development efforts (typically non-metallic) as well as identifying, developing, and transitioning specialty materials and technologies to platforms within Boeing Defense Systems. We are looking for someone who enjoys diversity in their work statement. The work statement will include specialty coatings, composite panel lay-up and fabrication, and mechanical test coupon prep and environmental exposure.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Mixing and formulation of specialty coatings

  • Hand spray and robotic application of specialty coatings

  • Lay-up of composite materials

  • Operation of equipment including autoclaves, ovens, environmental chambers, and mechanical test frames.

  • Inspection of applied coatings using test equipment such as micrometers and analytical test equipment including gloss meters and surface profilometers.

  • Ability to learn how to operate a variety of equipment and learn new processes and manufacturing procedures in a research and development environment

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined integrated product team, working alongside other skilled technicians, engineers, and support staff.

    Other Duties Include:

  • Assists in test development, routine analysis of failed parts and processes, generation of data to evaluate failed mechanisms and documentation of findings.

  • Assists in developing and revising documents and technical requirements.

  • Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and producibility requirements are met.

  • Supports continuous improvement efforts by assisting with the design, fabrication and testing of new concepts and technology.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires that the candidate possess a current Secret Clearance

  • This position requires an active SECRET U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

  • Experience with a chemical processing line is required Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • AA degree or formal training in composites, paint, or mechanical testing is desired, experience with electroless plating is desired. Experience with printed circuit board fabrication is desired
