SSM Health Sourcing and Vendor Management Director in Saint Louis, Missouri

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and develops applicable insight regarding all relevant services and vendor-based performance metrics including Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for key performance indicators, operational level agreements, performance metrics and the other applicable commercial provisions. Reviews vendor performance reports to ensure accuracy of the results, and initiates development of improvement and/or risk mitigation plans as necessary.

  • Partners with key stakeholders to assess vendor SLAs and metrics on a monthly or periodic basis. Supports vendor performance issue resolution from initiation through closure, validates remediation activities with the applicable stakeholders, and prepares for discussion as necessary for governance meetings. Supports collaborative relationships between vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Identifies key trends in vendor performance and proactively explores opportunities for improvement and adoption of best-in-class practices

  • Facilitates, documents, and reports on proposed contract changes, including modifications, additions and deletions. Facilitates timely resolution of contractual issues to minimize impact of service disruptions.

  • Supports the stakeholders' need for information regarding the terms and provisions of the vendor agreements, and acts as the go-to resource when issues or disputes arise related to such agreements. Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of service level agreements and provides input and guidance to the stakeholders when service contract details are unclear.

  • Supports management in developing information to inform vendor discussions, and facilitates discussions intended to resolve conflicts and issues. Performs risk reviews on a periodic basis for all vendors within the portfolio.

  • Plans, develops insightful analysis and prepares material for governance sessions, activities and reviews to align with the cadence established by procedures and guidelines. Supports and participates in informal and formal dispute resolution processes as necessary.

  • Performs review of vendor invoices; ensures service credits/holdbacks are accurately applied. Validates and supports processing of contractual price adjustments and/or rebates when required. Reviews spend trend and initiates necessary corrective actions as required (e.g., informal dispute management, contract change control, etc.).

  • Communicates and interacts effectively at various levels of the organization including senior leadership, business stakeholders and subject matter experts. Builds trust and respect with key stakeholders. Builds effective relationships with vendors.

  • Facilitates resolution of issues through creative solutioning, open exchange of information and viewpoints and influence; uses negotiation skills when appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE

  • Seven years’ experience, with five years’ in sourcing management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
