This individual will serve as a technical leader across the various application DBA teams. The role will not entail direct people management but will rely heavily on leadership by influence. This role requires strong database technical knowledge in database design, performance, application development patterns, etc. as well as a fundamental understanding of application development, database architecture, systems engineering, DevOps & deployment systems, as well as “cloud-native” technologies, tools, and processes. This role requires an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach with the ability to identify areas of automation that can be used across all application DBA teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of database (DB) technologies experience

  • 3+ years of Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience

  • 7+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations

  • 7+ years of experience with SQL Server database design and administration

  • 3+ years of experience in building cloud-native conversion strategies

  • 7 + years of experience writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning

  • 5+ years of Object Oriented experience

  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools

  • Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Knowledgeable in the programming or scripting language

  • Experience in leading the complex or critical data/ database management initiatives and projects

  • Experience with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both

  • Experience managing one or more industry-standard development tools or scripting languages

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

  • Project management experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience with ability to build positive relationships across teams

  • Proven leadership experience with ability to build positive relationships across teams

  • Proven experience with SQL database performance tuning

  • Proven experience in implementing database automation to help increase efficiencies

  • Proven experience in working in the DevOps framework

  • Extensive experience in supporting the Systems Development Life cycle to include:

o Code reviews and optimization

o Supporting unit, integration, quality, performance and scalability testing

o Understanding how to consult with development teams to construct a valid test harness that may be used to produce dependable results in testing at the database layer

  • Extensive experience identifying, developing and executing on action plans to resolve performance issues using tools such as:

  • Ability to write and maintain high quality documentation and or white papers

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply good interpersonal skills, and perform effectively under time pressure are critical skills required for this position

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts including senior and mid level managers.
