The Boeing Company Systems Engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri
Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is seeking a*Systems Engineer (Level 3) *who has a passion for developing innovative analytics based solutions that maximize aircraft operational efficiency at the lowest cost possible.
Your creative and intellectual skills will be used to develop novel approaches and algorithms for aircraft health management in a research and development environment.
As this position involves turning advanced research approaches into practical aerospace customer solutions, your primary duty will be to lead the development of a next generation ground based aircraft health management function to provide model based diagnostics and prognostics for new Boeing aircraft. You will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute projects.
Lead requirements definition, interface definition, architecture development, functional analysis, and system design activities for aircraft health management
Collaborate with engineering teams on development activities and communicate with aircraft program leaders, aircraft program engineering leads, and internal software development team members
Perform system design trade studies using analytical tools to determine design requirements and approaches
Support planning, scheduling, and risk management activities
Develops detailed test procedures to validate function and creates test reports that document test results to satisfy requirements.
Researches cutting edge technologies and collaborates with other teams and programs for potential application to Boeing products.

Work Authorization Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Systems engineering experience with requirements design, development, test, and verification methodologies.
Systems engineering experience writing test plans, procedures and reports for software and electrical systems.
Experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.
Technical skills and written & verbal communication skills.
Must be able to take initiative and work across multiple teams and organizations to coordinate and align work scope.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing model-based aircraft fault identification, filtering, and isolation systems
Experience with reliability, maintainability, and system health techniques, theories, and practices
Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
