Kelly Services is hiring for a Quality Lab Tech position in Springfield, MO.

Paying $14 an hour
8 to 5 Monday through Friday.
-ideally like to see someone with a strong back ground in science and/or someone with a chem/bio education.
Quality Lab Tech
Will manage own work, self-directed, and will work in a high performance work system. Teams are responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, maintaining a clean/safe work environment, and maintaining a high level of quality and service to their customers. The Lab tech will rotate between testing in the laboratory and performing quality checks on the plant floor
-Sample finished product, in process product, and materials for retains, microbiological tests, product development requests, corporate requests and customer requests.
-Set up, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment
-Use a variety of test methods, procedures and instrumentation to accurately examine and test samples.
-Accurately record results on paper, log books and in the computer.
-Communicate problems and test results to the appropriate personnel.
-Interpreting data to identify trends, out of control conditions, and con-conformance to specifications. Provide Information and work with the appropriate personnel to ensure products meet established specifications to correct processes.
-Perform initial trouble shooting activities for operational issues that adversely affect product quality and recommend potential solutions.
-Hold non conforming products and materials. Create and issue Quality Notifications. Issued DMR's (Defective Material Report) to suppliers for non-conforming materials when appropriate.
-Audit production line for key quality attributes, such as code dates, fill weights, metal detection and package integrity.

-Ability to work OT on short notice and required weekend work.
-Ability to be flexible with shift and work day assignments to support business need requirements.
-College chemistry coursework.
-Strong understanding and practice of Good Laboratory Practices
-Proficient with MS applications
-Color Vision, ability to detect color required
-Ability to perform taste sensory analysis on a variety of products that contain allergens.
-2 years of previous analytical lab experience
-Proficient and knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of a Gas Chromatography (GC), salt titration, and microbiological sampling preferred.
