The Boeing Company SLAM-ER Seeker IPT Lead in St. Charles, Missouri

The Boeing Missile and Weapon Systems Team located in St. Charles, MO is seeking a Seeker Integrated Product Team lead for the Standoff Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) cruise missile to join an industry leading team in developing critical seeker solutions for the USN and our international partners.  Our team is diverse and full of opportunities that will challenge you in new and intriguing ways, let you interact at a multi-site organizational level and coordinate with both USN and senior program management for technical development, testing and programmatic performance reporting, including risk management, cost and schedule management.  Excellent communications, organization and interpersonal relationship building is essential.  This position offer a unique opportunity to lead a keystone new seeker development on a high visibility focus program and help shape successful transition to production and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leads development of a gimbaled Infrared sensor as part of the SLAM-ER restart program.

Works directly with senior management, suppliers, different Boeing business units and customers to develop and test seeker performance.

Ensures hardware and software development and system integration meet defined requirements.

Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by coordinating product-wide corrective and preventive actions as required.

Manages cost, schedule and technical performance and communicates progress to senior management.

Develops and executes updates to project and process plans.

Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and engineering teams.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes for both hardware and software elements of the seeker.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required skills/experience):

Bachelor Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics is required.

A minimum of fourteen (14) or more years of experience working with complex avionics integration and test on military weapons or airplanes.

Nine (9) or more years of experience successfully managing projects to cost and schedule.

An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance post start.

US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired skills/experience):

Experience with written and verbal communication and leading projects, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver results.

Experience leading avionics and/or seeker testing to requirements.

Experience managing suppliers and multi-site development teams.

Infrared sensor, gimbal control and/or sensor image processing algorithm/software experience.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
