The Boeing Company Associate Product Security and Anti Tamper Engineer in St Louis, Missouri
The Missile and Weapon Systems (MWS) Product Security Engineering Capability is seeking an Associate Systems Security Engineer to join our team, and support Anti Tamper Design and Analysis Engineering needs in the St. Louis area. The MWS Product Security team is responsible for the security, resiliency, and safety of MWS products and services. This team performs multiple engineering activities, including: analysis, design, development, validation, and testing of the security and resiliency solutions of our products and services.
The successful candidate will be part of the growing capability in the Product Security and Anti Tamper Engineering Capability Center (AT ECC). You will be joining a team of advanced security engineers across the Boeing, that are jointly developing best practices, techniques and tools, and a community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers. The AT ECC develops industry-leading software and hardware solutions in the rapidly growing field of secure computing. This position includes the opportunity to work on new computing architectures and integrate key security and control features using Boeing-designed computing hardware and other Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) hardware/software. The engineering role will consist of managing releasability activities for current programs and interfacing with AT engineers and program management to help meet cost and schedule commitments. Additional tasks will include engagement with programs and customers to understand AT requirements, shape statements of work, and participate in estimates and proposals.
Support analysis, definition, and implementation of systems, cybersecurity, and Anti Tamper requirements over the engineering life-cycle of Weapons and other regional programs in St. Louis
Support and perform system analysis for cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risk
Understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
Develop, document and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to customer desires and contract requirements
Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
Analyze, translate and implement requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product life cycle
Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies
Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product life cycle
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product life cycle
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business need
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree
Minimum of 1 year of education and/or work experience in Cyber Security
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in the aerospace industry
Experience or education with Electronic and Electrical System Requirements
Applicants must have good communication, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment - previous design team or special project team participation
Ability to conceive, develop, optimize, maintain and modify electronic/electrical system designs based on requirements
Ability to provide technical coordination with internal and external suppliers and customers
Knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A])
Knowledge of data system design, and architectures
Knowledge of system security design principles and industry and government guidance and regulations which engineers apply to produce secure systems
Demonstrated history of strong performance in engineering, operating through the engineering lifecycle
Highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with external customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment
Experience in agile environments, with strong team partnerships and environments with challenging requirements and designs, which require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
