Aerotek Lab Technician *Entry Level - $15 /Hr* in St. Louis, Missouri

Description:

Position is for 1st or 2nd shift

  • 7-3:30pm

  • 2:00pm to 10:30pm

  • Monday – Friday

  • Some overtime/weekend work will be available and may be required on occasion

Lab Tech Entry (GQA- Genetic Quality Assurance)

This group tests samples from the following programs for Varietal Purity, Trait Purity, and Adventitious Presence:

  • Corn, Sweet Corn, Soybean Breeding and Prefoundation.

GQA supports global seed manufacturting with exclusive technology- their mission is to know EXACTLY what is in each bag of seed that is genetically modified and shipped.

Varietal Purity- testing using Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP); a DNA based test

Trait Purity- protein based testing determined using Enzyme Linked Immuno-sorbent Assays (ELISA)

Adventituous Presence test is performed on corn and soy to ensure the freedom to operate of their commercial seed production and development of new Biotechnology Traits.

Employee will perform laboratory tasks such as dropping, crushing, planting, harvesting, counting, grinding, reagent preparation, and other routine laboratory tasks to support these different types of genetic testing.

Conduct routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Will be required to assist in the operation of equipment for the purpose of data generation.

Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking.
