Job Summary
To develop data and processes that generate Numerical Control (NC) programs which facilitate and control the manufacture of products.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, create, verify and revise machine control data and documentation that directs the operation for multi-axis numerically controlled machines and robots required to manufacture and inspect complex parts and tools
Provide numerical control, machining, and programming technical expertise to cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
Establish technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility
Define and designs complex fixtures used to manufacture or inspect part
Plan, guide and facilitate the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods or inspection techniques, processes and software
Continuously improve the quality of manufacturing processes and supplier-provided work
Develops processes and procedures for new machines and products
Works with customers and Design Engineering to resolve definition and producibility issues
Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance
Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
15 years programming aerospace metallic structural components, and manufacturing tools or fixtures
5 axis structural part background and experience
5 years of Catia experience
Vericut simulation background and experience
Must be a US Person. Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Additional NX or other CAD/CAM software is a plus
Trade School certification or degree in a relevant manufacturing field is preferred
Familiarity with current windows environment and current Microsoft office suite
Strong CAD design and modeling skills desired
Machinist and or machine tool experience
VB or other coding software knowledge is a plus
Composites and/or ply nest programming knowledge is a plus
Ability to lead team projects
Ability and willingness to coach and train NC programming staff
Physical Demands
Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations
May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
Must be able to withstand loud noise of a machine shop environment
