Pipeline Enablement Associate
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Pipeline Enablement Associate, are to:
There is a preference for this role to be located at our Woodland Ca site, but we will also consider residence-based candidates located in the mainland United States.
Draft and review experimental protocols ("sets"), with guidance from breeders, and ensure planning and execution of plan to generate quality data for product advancement in hybrid and nursery trials;
Lead creation of marker projects and pedigree/inventory generation in system (e.g. FTS/Velocity);
Work with Breeding Operation Associates to orchestrate defined plan for key pipeline tasks, such as seed movement/shipment, pathology handoffs, genotyping needs, trial and pollination instructions;
Assist breeder in phenotype and genotype nursery selection, with an eye to crop and market specific knowledge;
Apply proper planning tools to manage tasks such as capacity request and management; calendarization of activities from planting to harvest, and tracking performance metrics;
Utilize and assist in the design of tools for data extraction, curation and management of genomic, phenotypic and pipeline data for use in pipeline decision making by breeding team;
Build summaries/dashboards for pipeline product performance to aid in advancement decisions, as well as metrics for various KPIs;
Work across crops and breeding pipelines, as well as Operational Teams, to unify processes, identify best practices, increase efficiencies of workflows and improve protocols;
Capture data in Windows and iOS operating systems (computers, iPhones, iPads, iPods), support development and testing of automated phenotyping solutions and conduct data quality check to enable timely advancement of vegetable products;
Assist in compiling reports and filing Intellectual Property / Invention Disclosures on germplasm and novel innovations;
Ensure compliance with Worker Protection Standards (WPS) as well as Bayer safety guidelines and housekeeping practices;
Perform tasks to ensure compliance with Bayer policies and ensure compliance with regulatory policies and local governmental requirements.

Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience in OR Master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience;
Proficiency in computer applications for Plant Breeding database management and data analysis, including predictive breeding;
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;
Demonstrated ability to influence partners;
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based and cross-functional team environment;
Passion to grow and willingness to be intellectually challenged;
Willingness to influence and inspire others.
Experience in assisting breeding programs, data analysis, or nursery design and management;
Preferred area of study in Breeding, Biology, Horticulture or related field;.
Master of Science with at least two years of relevant experience.
