Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Radiation Oncology. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: The Biologic Therapeutics Center at the Washington University School of Medicine has an opening for a post-doctoral research associate. The laboratory projects will involve studies of the molecular virology of adenovirus for gene therapy and gene editing via CRISPR/Cas9. The main focus will be viral engineering to accomplish B cell transduction. This position is linked to the NIH’s new Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) Common Fund and will benefit from all facets of participating with this cutting-edge NIH-directed scientific groups. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Actively pursue research under the supervision of the PI while developing skills for independent research. 2. Critically analyze and summarize scientific literature. 3. Prepare and present results of research in internal seminars and external conferences and journals. 4. Assist with grant preparation and reporting. Required Qualifications Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in microbiology, virology, molecular biology or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, as well as knowledge of the biology of viruses. Salary Range Base pay commensurate with experience.
