Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Ob/Gyn. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Frolova’s laboratory at Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Frolova’s research is primarily focused on studying mechanisms of uterine contractility. The successful applicant will utilize established cell-based and mouse models, functional genomics, and transcriptomics to address important questions concerning uterine contractility and develop new targets to modulate contractility. Candidate will also participate in translational efforts in this area. Applicants with a strong background in molecular biology and in using rodent models are encouraged to apply. Required Qualifications * Recent Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree (or candidate) in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular, cell and developmental biology or reproductive biology. * Background in molecular biology, protein biochemistry, calcium imaging, and/or flow cytometry. * Experience with designing, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data. * Experience with reading and understanding scientific papers and applying these concepts to experimental design. Preferred Qualifications * Clear interest in the molecular mechanisms involved in uterine contractility are strongly preferred. * Strong background in cell and molecular biology, protein biochemistry, electrophysiology, genetics and flow cytometry are encouraged to apply. * Ability to write manuscripts and contribute to grant applications. Salary Range Base pay commensurate with experience.
