Manage the logistical operations of shipping finished goods and receiving of raw materials. Ensures that raw materials are available for manufacturing needs and shipping schedules for finished products are created and fulfilled within customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Domestic and International freight scheduling for completed orders and finished goods.

  • Review orders and customer POs for routing instructions and coordinate as needed.

  • All relative shipping and customs documentation to ship goods internationally.

  • Oversee shipping department for on-time shipments, warehouse maintenance, etc.

  • Coordinate with customer service and freight forwarders to complete required shipping documentation and pickup schedules.

  • Oversee receiving department functions including creation of process flow diagrams to improve efficiencies.

  • Maintaining and reconciling inventory for small parts storage area.

  • Assist in the ISO Quality Process.

AUTHORITY:

This position supervises the Shipping/Receiving Department and reports to the Production Manager with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.

PHYSICAL SKILLS:

A combination of office and warehouse functions. Short periods of time sitting in comfortable position using keyboard and telephone. Majority of time requires multiple hours of standing and walking with light lifting, up to 50 Lbs.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years experience leading domestic and international logistics and inventory functions.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be able to quickly learn software related to inventory and logistics.

  • Must be familiar with FedEx Ship Manager and UPS World Ship.
