Your Role and Responsibilities


As the Lead Clinical System Architect for Watson Health Life Sciences, you will be accountable for consultative selling and delivery of Clinical Data Solutions , which include the following:

  • Define our data plays to enhance the Life Sciences industry’s drug development efforts, clinical priorities, and commercial strategies with a focus on real world data;

  • Work across a cross functional team to develop and successfully execute a robust, cutting edge data strategy;

  • Work with our various clients to accelerate our real-world data business and ensure that it anticipates and prepares for the inevitable rapid evolution of the life sciences marketplace;

  • Collaborate across the business segments within IBM Watson Health and Global Business Services with our data solutions and data strategies.

  • Mentor other technical staff in developing solutions for clinical, specifical architecture design, data modeling and data integration for clinical systems (e.g. EDC, CTMS, CDMS, clinical data warehouse).

  • Security (i.e. HIPAA, HITRUST)

  • Cloud: both public and hybrid (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Microservices (Docker / K8)

  • Big data / streaming solutions (Hadoop / Spark)

  • Orchestration (Kafka, Airflow, Flink)


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 8+ years of recent consulting experience, delivering projects for Pharmaceutical clients

  • 5+ years of experience delivering Data solutions in life sciences (Pharmaceutical / Biotech )

  • 3+ years experience building credible data solutions for clinical applications and working with claims, pharmacy, lab and/or study data.

  • Proficient working knowledge of data integration with CTMS, EDC, CDMS, FHIR Servers and data warehouse systems.

  • Proficient working knowledge and experience with clinical models and standards, specifically CDISC, HL7, OMOP, SDTM, SMOWMED or similar standards.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Security (i.e. HIPAA, HITRUST)

  • Cloud: both public and hybrid

  • CI/CD, Container Experience(Docker / Kubernetes, Openshift)

  • Big Data / streaming solutions (Hadoop / Spark)

  • Orchestration (Kafka, Airflow, Flink)
