Supervisor, Quality Control (Sample Mgmt)

How will you make an impact?

The supervisor oversees sampling and/or dispensing of materials, provides specified instructions to staff, provides Sampling and Dispensing sample management expertise to meet the business objectives for Thermo Fisher, mentors and trains staff, provides “1st Line Defense” to ensure cGMP compliance, and acts as SME for the area.

What will you do?

  • Oversee sampling, dispensing, and/or storage materials. Investigate and resolve problems with incoming bulk finished products, validation samples, in process and finished non-sterile/sterile products for release.

  • Review and approve SOPs and protocols. Protocols may be for sampling of new materials/products or investigations.

  • Provide support in resolving sample protocol and/or SOP revision authorship.

  • Schedule sample management activities to meet target dates and needs of supported areas.

  • Oversee effective and efficient investigations. Review and Approve investigations regarding incorrect documentation, labeling, and assist with root cause analysis.

  • Represent Sample Management area during regulatory/client audits and on project teams.

  • Provide training and SME expertise.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Science related field preferred.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of related laboratory or Quality Control experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry OR 1-3 years of experience in a cGMP laboratory

  • 2+ years of supervising direct reports highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of GMP regulations in a cGMP manufacturing envrionment.

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

  • Ability to use standard computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, and Access

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and strong attention to detail
