General Dynamics Information Technology Testing Analyst in St Louis, Missouri

Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has an immediate opportunity for a Testing Analyst responsible for planning and executing SIT across major and minor releases. They will design, develop and configure test software/scripts to support automation of application functionality. This includes working with team members to define automation requirements, testing new automation enhancements, and maintaining automation code. The candidate will apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes and tools to support the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test models for SIT testing (plans, data and scripts) including the identification, collection and/or creation of test data

  • Develop, update and maintain quality testing standards and procedures

  • Assist in the planning, creation and control of the test environment(s)

  • Facilitate and/or participate in structured walk-through and peer reviews

  • Participate in the coordination and execution of release testing

  • Mentor other testers on methodology framework testing processes and application knowledge as appropriate

  • Determine and meet time estimates and schedules for testing efforts

Education

Education:

  • Bachelors' Degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Business (or related field of study) and a minimum of 5 years' of directly related work experience; OR an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of related experience

  • Familiarity with different types of testing (system integration, regression, functional, unit, performance, etc.) and an ability to plan/execute accordingly

  • Ability to develop test conditions and expected results based on the application requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication (ability to translate between business and technical concepts)

  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle experience (Waterfall or Agile)

  • Experience working with a Relational Database using SQL

  • Experience working with Java development/principles

  • Experience working with XML

  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and VersionOne

  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities

  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Catalog and maintain test scenario library

  • Present testing results and progress to management team

Additional Preferred Skill Requirements:

  • Experience developing automated tests with Selenium

  • Experience developing automated tests with QTP
