PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The site foreman is responsible for directing the activities on the pipeline construction site. This includes scheduling, directing workers, training and planning. One of the most important parts of a site foreman's job is to ensure the safety of all personnel on the job site. The foreman is responsible for understanding regulations and OSHA requirements.
Responsible for own personal safety and the safety of all others.
Responsible for safety orientation for all new employees.
Conducts daily job site safety meetings and completes the toolbox meeting report form.
Conducts a daily site safety inspection and corrects and potential hazards.
Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to confirm to work schedules.
Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Reports near misses as they occur and works with the crew and the safety team for prompt resolution of any concerns.
Ensure all Geeding safety procedures are followed and is constantly on the lookout for compliance
Keeps Director and Vice President of Operations advised of schedule, problems encountered, etc.
Assesses job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate job sites.
Assist in training, development and leadership of employees.
Ensure all jobs are completed on time and within budget.
The foreman should ensure all company property is accounted for.
Act as the communication liaison between management and crew.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, timesheets, daily logs, JSA’s and toolbox forms.
Actively participates in the weekly Foremen conference call.
Perform miscellaneous other duties as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in pipeline maintenance or related field
Safety and Security- Observes safety and security procedures. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
