LMI Aerospace Engineering Manager in Washington, Missouri

Position Summary

The Manager of Engineering Services is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of the Engineering department. The manager coordinates with engineering, manufacturing, quality and post-production teams to develop and guide the manufacturing plan. He/she ensures that all pre-production processes including contracts, planning, purchasing, programming and quality review are efficiently completed and follow all procedure, program, and customer requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Engineering implementation for all new programs

  • Coordinate and execute necessary changes on new and existing programs

  • Communicate with department managers to set and drive the schedule

  • Uses process engineering principles and techniques

  • Develop, establish, and guide requirements for manufacturing configurations.

  • Work with General Manager and Department Managers to ensure proper resources exist to support the current programs

  • Develop metrics to show progress and report internally, as well as externally

  • Utilize ERP system to ensure all tasks are being completed as necessary

  • Communicate engineering issues to the customer

  • Support engineering department as issues arise

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Required Skills/Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience with Catia, and other CAD/CAM systems are strongly recommended

  • Must have experience with ERP systems

  • Must have excellent computer skills, and experience with all Microsoft applications

  • Must have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask, as there are many projects going on at any given time

  • Must have the ability to define and translate engineering requirements for assembly, machining, and quality processes

  • Must attain knowledge of industry-based standards and specifications

  • Leadership skills, has positive ‘can do’ attitude, ability to motivate, influence, and foster loyalty

  • Results oriented and takes ownership

  • Must possess exceptional judgment, initiative, discretion, tact, and personality in all areas of responsibility while maintaining high levels of confidentiality

  • Creative, problem-solver, sound decision maker.

Education Required

Must have an Engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Required

5 or more years of engineering experience in the Aerospace industry
